5221D Optical Cable If your DVD-player is connected to the A/V-receiver, using a digital cable provides great advantages. On the DVD-disc, the 5.1 channel audio track is stored digitally and in the A/V receiver the signal is process digitally as well. By using an ordinary analogue interconnect cable you ruin the multi channel signal, by down mixing it to analogue stereo. Afterwards the signal is again in the A/V-receiver converted back to digital for processing. This extra processing seriously degrades the quality of the audio track.
5221D is a digital cable that despite its low cost is both well sounding and well constructed. A coaxial cable generally speaking provides better sound that an optical cable, and should therefore be preferred, except in the case of very long cables.
The elegant white snakeskin-finish and the robust gold plated connectors immediately gives an indication of the quality of the cable, and you will not be disappointed when you start using the cable. As always with Argon the value-for-money is exceptional. The cable is available in 1, 3 and 5 meters in length.
